These players will be playing for their respective teams in the IPL and Cricket matches will follow the twenty20 pattern that will be started during the summers, from the month of April 2008 this year! What needs to be seen is whether this formula of the game will be able to survive the season and draw in the crowds in the hot summers to the stadiums to watch the matches. How exactly is this going to affect the official one day matches that were being played so far? Are the players going to be able to last that long? Won't they feel the fatigue, as twenty20 game is the much faster version of the one day match and will require more stamina and fitness than ever! Most of the players that are being selected now for this version are all older players, who were anyways going to retire from the world of cricket! What will happen to the future of the game of Cricket in general? Will it survive this IPL? Will players still like to play for their country? The younger players will have a better opportunity here in the IPL with quick money making options so why would they want to play in the ODI officially for the country? There are many such questions that are now coming to the fore as the IPL gets all set to launch their teams in a big way!Are we killing the Game of Cricket?
